About me and my experience
I specialise in self-esteem and relationships, change and loss, and identity and meaning.
I was drawn to being a therapist after experiencing some profoundly traumatic life changes. Therapy helped me find my self-esteem and regain a sense of identity. I wanted to support other people to do the same.
I’m trained as an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor. This means that our relationship – where you feel listened to, safe, and gently challenged – is the most important thing.
I’m influenced by a range of therapeutic ideas. I’m passionate about how attachment and childhood experiences influence how we see ourselves and relate to others. I understand the impact of stress and trauma on the mind and body, and the value of mindfulness in our day-to-day lives. I acknowledge the impact of privilege and difference but believe it is important to live a life that feels true to ourselves.
I have a degree in Integrative Counselling from Middlesex University. I’m a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and I practice according to their ethical guidelines.
I have previously worked as a counsellor at Mind (Norfolk and Waveney) for people with depression and anxiety. I have also worked as a counsellor at Time Norfolk for people experiencing pregnancy loss.
